Welcome to www.zeroharmsciences.co.nz by ZeroHarm Sciences Private Limited, or ZeroHarm Sciences as we like to be called (we, us, our).  Your privacy is important to us.  Rest assured we comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (Act) when dealing with your personal information.   

This policy sets out how we collect, use, disclose and look after your personal information that has been collected. 

We may modify this policy from time to time but will post the updated version on www.zeroharmsciences.co.nz (Website).  The change will apply from the date we upload the revised policy to the Website.  By continuing to use the Website or by purchasing any of our products via our Website, you consent to these modifications or amendments.

Who do we collect your personal information from?

We collect information from you when you register or create an account on our Website, place an order, subscribe to receive our marketing materials, contact us for information about our products or when you contact us for any purpose. 

We may also collect personal information about you from third parties where you have authorised this or the information is publicly available.  If possible, we will collect personal information from you directly.

We also receive and collect the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet; the Internet protocol (IP) address of the device you are using; the browser software you use and your operating system; the date and time you access our site; and any search engine or inbound hyperlink used to reach this Website which is made available to us. This information is used only for statistical purposes and to help us enhance the customer experience for our Website users.

Where do we store and process your information?

We will hold personal information as either secure physical records, electronically on our IT systems, in cloud storage, and in some cases, records on third party servers, which may be located in New Zealand or in other countries. We use a range of security measures to protect the personal information we hold, including by implementing IT security tools to protect our electronic databases.

Some of the third parties to whom we disclose personal information (such as our service providers) may also be located outside of New Zealand. Such recipients provide billing, payment, IT and other administrative services to us (including offshore data hosting and processing, data analytics, help desk and data-entry).

The countries in which such third party recipients are located depend on the circumstances.  In the ordinary course of business we commonly store data in, or disclose personal information to recipients located in, countries such as: New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United States, and India.

Website and credit card security

We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorised activity, or other misuse.

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

All supplied credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorised with special access rights to such systems.  These providers are required to keep the information confidential.

No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We comply with applicable privacy laws by taking reasonable steps to ensure that all personal information is protected (as is reasonable in the circumstances) against unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure or misuse. However, due to the nature of the Internet and email systems, we are unable to guarantee the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information while it is transmitted over the Internet.

We may investigate or monitor a customer’s behaviour if we suspect that there may be fraudulent activity on their account. This may result in ZeroHarm Sciences contacting a customer by email or telephone about their order to verify its validity or credit card information, before the order is dispatched.

Please ensure you sign out when you have finished visiting the Website, especially if you access our Website from a shared computer.

Our Website, any direct marketing, or other communications we may have with you may contain links to third party websites.  These third party websites have separate and independent privacy policies and are not controlled or developed by us. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our Website and welcome any feedback about these sites.

While we take reasonable steps to maintain secure internet connections, if you provide us with personal information over the internet, the provision of that information is at your own risk.

How can you access/amend your personal information?

If you wish to obtain confirmation that we hold personal information about you and to access that information, or you wish to request a correction to your personal information that we hold, please contact us at care@zeroharmsciences.co.nz.  Before you exercise this right, we will need evidence to confirm that you are the individual to whom the personal information relates.

You may also amend your personal information associated with your account by updating your account details.

If you request access to, or a copy of, your personal information, we will provide you with a copy of the personal information we keep about you. However, we reserve the right to charge you a reasonable amount for providing copies of any personal information you request, to take into account the time, cost and effort involved.

If you request a correction to your personal information and we agree that your personal information needs correcting, an amended record of your personal information will be provided back to you. If we do not agree to your request for a correction, you may request that we take reasonable steps to attach to the information a statement of correction sought but not made.

How long can we hold personal information?

We will determine how long we hold your personal information, except that we will not keep your personal information for longer than is necessary to achieve the purposes for which we may lawfully use it.  We may need to retain records containing personal information to comply with record keeping obligations and for other legitimate business purposes (such as quality assurance).  

If your personal information is no longer required by us, we will either destroy the information or de-identify it so it cannot be attributed to you personally.

Business Continuity

In the event that ZeroHarm Sciences’ business is acquired, merged or restructured, or in the unlikely event ZeroHarm Sciences goes out of business, or enters into liquidation or receivership, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to the new owners or operators of ZeroHarm Services business, and that any acquirer of ZeroHarm Sciences may continue to use the information collected by ZeroHarm Sciences.

Our Website uses cookies to help us provide you with a better experience with ZeroHarm Services. Cookies may be used in a variety of ways to enhance or personalise your online browsing and shopping experience.

Targeted Advertising

Use of personal identifiers  

We may also use advanced matching method and personal identifiers (such as email address, phone number and others) to match our Website's visitors and display our ads on advertising platforms, such as Meta or Google. The information is hashed before being sent to our partners to help protect your privacy.  

When we use these services (or any advertising service that requires us to use or disclose your personal information), we will only do so if we are permitted to do so by applicable privacy laws.  

Unsubscribe / Opt-Out

We only want to communicate with you if you want to hear from us.  If at any time you would like to unsubscribe or opt-out from receiving future electronic newsletters, promotions, and marketing, we include unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each electronic message.

Product Reviews

We reserve the right to use all testimonials and product reviews we receive in our marketing and promotional material, both on and offline, on any platform managed by the us, identifying reviewers by first name only. If you provide a review about a product, we may publish that review on any other ZeroHarm Sciences platform that offers that product.  If you choose to include a photo or video with your review (for example, a photo or video of yourself with the product), we may publish that photo or video together with your review. Please carefully consider any photo or videos that you choose to include with your review.
